Queue a hunt when the pantry runs low
Look for a visible wild creature and queue a hunt to get meat. Mossbomb names hunting as a food source in the official Malignus press kit. A preview player queued several hunts to keep meat coming into the dungeon, then found they could not add another order without a creature in sight.
Keep cooking orders ready
Set an order at the Cooking Table so your cooks have a meal to work on when its ingredients are available. Select the table, choose a recipe, and check the order queue. Treat hunting and cooking as two separate jobs. Bringing meat in helps stock the pantry, while a cooking order tells minions what to prepare.
Find the bottleneck before queuing more work
If your food supply is falling, check whether you have a visible hunt target and a hunting order waiting. Then look at the Cooking Table to see whether an order is queued and what ingredients it needs. A full queue of meals will not bring in missing ingredients. More hunts will not create the cooking order for you.
FAQ
What is a documented way to get meat?
Queue a hunt on a visible wild creature. The developer describes hunting creatures for food, and a creator used hunts to get meat in the preview.
Why can’t I queue a hunt right now?
The preview player could not queue one when there was no creature in sight. Look for a visible target before trying again.
Does hunting also queue a meal?
Use the Cooking Table to queue a recipe separately.
