Choose a boss and four starting minions
Open New Dungeon and choose the boss who will lead your lair. Next, pick four starting minions and spend their stat points. The official Malignus press kit shows these as consecutive setup steps. Think about the jobs your crew will need to handle as soon as the dungeon opens.
Mark rock with the Mine order
Use Mine to mark a small section of rock near your starting hall. Your minions take the digging jobs themselves, so leave them room to work instead of marking every nearby wall at once. When the space opens, claim and furnish the rooms you need for your first working core.
Feed, rest, and equip the crew before expanding
Give your minions a source of food, somewhere to sleep, and gear you can craft. See how the crew handles those needs while you finish the first rooms. When food and rest are under control, add the next room or prepare for a raid. A larger dungeon is easier to run when its first rooms are already doing their jobs.
FAQ
How many minions do I start with?
You pick four in the New Dungeon setup, after choosing your boss.
Do I need to tell each minion to dig?
Mark the rock with Mine. Minions pick up the resulting jobs themselves.
What should I finish before expanding?
Start with claimed, furnished rooms that support food, sleep, and gear. Then decide where the crew can handle more work.
